Brooklyn Shooting Kills Man, Injures Another: NYPD

A shooting killed one man and critically injured another Sunday in Canarsie, police said.

Darren Harrison, 22, of Brooklyn, died in the shooting, police said. His family was too devestated to talk to the media.

The survivor, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Kings County Hospital, police said.

The men were shot in front of 962 East 84th Street on a residential street in Brooklyn, police said.

A witness who lives across the street told NBC New York he saw the bodies of the victims on each side of the road.

The "neighborhood's just not safe out here anymore," resident Sheldon Richards said. "You just gotta be careful where you go and watch whatever you do."
