A bomb threat phoned into a Brooklyn high school prompted a massive evacuation Tuesday, with Chopper 4 showing thousands of people gathered on the tennis courts outside the building as authorities investigated.

Midwood High School on Bedford Avenue was evacuated after the bomb threat was reported about 11.15 a.m. Two hours later, authorities said a search of the premises turned up no explosive and the school was deemed safe.

The nature of the phone threat wasn't immediately clear. No injuries were reported, and the evacuation was ordered out of an abundance of caution.

Police say no one has been taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The school serves nearly 4,000 students in grades nine through 12.

The city's Department of Education confirmed the safety of students and faculty and said the threat was immediately reported to the NYPD.
