Mom Carjacked in the Bronx with Son in Backseat

The car was found an hour later, with the 3-year-old boy unharmed in the backseat.

Police are looking for a man who they say stole a car Saturday in the Bronx with a child in the back seat.

The 45-year-old victim parked her car on Jerome Avenue in the Fordham section of the Bronx after 1:00 p.m. When she got out to remover her 3-year-old son from the back of the car, police say a man entered the vehicle and took off with the child still in the car.

While driving off, the car struck the female and broke her leg.

The NYPD canvassed the area, and an hour later recovered the stolen vehicle around the block, on Davidson Avenue.

The child was still in the car seat, unharmed. He was transported with his mother to St. Barnabus Hospital.

Police are still looking for the suspect, described as a Hispanic male approximately 45 to 55-years-old.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
