An 18-year-old Bronx man was arrested in connection with two sexual attacks, one of which occurred on the SUNY New Paltz college campus, authorities said Tuesday.
Brian Sanchez was arrested Sunday, the university said. He was charged by the University Police Department with one count of first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, for an alleged attack on campus.
He was also charged by New Paltz police with first-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment and criminal sexual act for an alleged attack nearby, but not on campus.
Sanchez is not a student at the university. He was remanded to Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
