A wild brawl erupted at a high school basketball game on Long Island Monday night, with nearly two dozen people swarming the court and prompting a flurry of 911 calls, authorities and witnesses say.

The fight at Wyandanch High School started after an "intense" game between Wyandanch’s team and a team from Mount Sinai High School, a parent who attended told News 4. The Junior Varsity teams were warming up for their own game when "all hell broke loose," the parent said.

Several people called 911 to report the fight around 5:45 p.m., Suffolk County police said. The brawl, however, went on for around 30 to 40 minutes before it was stopped, according to the parent.

When officers got to the school, they found up to 20 people involved.

One video taken inside the gymnasium shows a chaotic scene, with one person throwing another to the ground. A second video shows a man pull someone who appears to be a student out of a throng of people and shove him into an illuminated board emblazoned with “Home of the Warriors," knocking it over.

The parent told News 4 the fight started after a group of Wyandanch players approached a group of Wyandanch fans after they left the stands.

Officers were able to clear people out of the gym and off the school grounds, but a 14-year-old boy who allegedly hit a police officer was arrested and charged with unlawful assembly and resisting arrest, according to police.

A 14-year-old girl who wasn’t involved in the fight somehow injured her knee, police said. She was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center for treatment.

No one else was injured in the brawl, and the officer the boy hit didn't need medical treatment, police said.

Mount Sinai Athletic Director Scott Reh said the incident didn't involve any of his school's players, but declined to provide additional comment.
