Boy Scout from L.I. Dies at Camp

The cause of a 10-year-old Long Island boy's death at a Boy Scout camp remains a mystery as grief counselors are being put in place for his fellow campers.

Officials at Camp Yawgoog in Hopkinton, Rhode Island, said the boy, who was from Huntington, was found in cardiac arrest in his cabin Saturday morning.

Emergency responders attempted to administer CPR on the boy, but the boy died, the Providence Journal-Bulletin reports. Police now believe the boy died from another medical condition.

The boy, who remains unidentified as the family continued to notify relatives, had been camping with a group of about 1,000 Scouts who had arrived from Long Island last week. They were due to head home Sunday.
