A boy riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle on a busy Upper West Side intersection Tuesday afternoon, authorities say.
Emergency responders responded to the accident at Columbus Avenue and 77th Street at about 2:45 p.m., according to the FDNY.
Police say the 13-year-old had exited a schoolyard at the corner and was riding his bicycle through a crosswalk when he took a right turn onto Columbus from 77th. That's when he was struck by the vehicle, causing him to flip over his bike, according to police.
He was transported to a local hospital with a fractured leg.
The driver remained on the scene, police said.
