A day following the Times Square bomb scare, passerbys in the Flatiron District who saw something, said something -- only this time it was a false alarm in the name of artistic expression.
Firefighters and the NYPD bomb squad fled to 1133 Broadway Sunday night after receiving calls about what appeared to be a bomb about to explode in the store's display window, reported The New York Post.
The exhibit created by Lisa Kirk contained a fog machine, a fake time bomb, and perfume trinkets resembling pipe bombs called "Revolution."
According to Kirk's website, the perfume's scent "contains the odor of smoke, gasoline, tear gas, burnt rubber, and decaying flesh."
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters shut off the fog machine and the bomb squad checked out the store's safety, reported The Post.
"I feel really bad that that happened," Kirk told The Post. "I know they're really busy ... There are more important things to deal with than some art installation."
