Human Remains Found in Duffel Bag Dumped Near Queens Shoreline in March Identified

Authorities have identified the human remains found in a black duffel bag near the shoreline in Queens several months ago as 26-year-old Westerley Osson.

The remains of Osson, whose last address wasn't known, were found in the bag on Gipson Street in Far Rockaway March 30.

Two residents walking along Motts Basin noticed the bag with a human leg sticking out of it and called police, authorities have said.

It's not clear how long the bag had been there, but police previously said they thought it was brought there from another location.

The medical examiner has ruled Osson's death a homicide. No arrests have been made.
