Son, 16, Arrested After Discovery of Dead Woman Stuffed in Bin in Bronx

A building superintendent made the grisly discovery

Police have arrested the 16-year-old son of a woman whose body was found stuffed in plastic contained in the Bronx Wednesday.

The teen is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal weapon possession charges.

A building superintendent made the grisly discovery across from where 34-year-old Tihesha Savage, who also had a daughter, lived on Macombs Road, just off Jerome Avenue, officials said.

Authorities say Savage had severe head trauma.

Neighbors were stunned to learn of the discovery.

"She was a good mother. You always see her taking her daughter to the park, to the school," said one woman.

It's not clear what prompted the alleged murder. Information on an attorney for the teen wasn't immediately available.
