Police: 1 of 2 Found Dead in Long Island Home a Suicide

Adult Protective Services officials found the bodies

Police say one of two people found dead in a home on Long Island committed suicide.

Nassau County police say the bodies of an 84-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man were discovered Wednesday in a home in Glen Cove after Adult Protective Services received an anonymous phone call.

Lt. John Azzata said Thursday that the man committed suicide. He said the medical examiner will determine the woman's cause of death.

Police did not immediately release their names. They said the woman had been dead for several days.

Azzata said it is possible that the woman died of natural causes and the man killed himself because he was distraught at finding her.

He said seven cats and "numerous" guns were found in the house.
