A man with handcuffs allegedly told a 12-year-old girl he was a police officer and tried to entice her to come with him, sheriff's deputies in New Jersey said.
Several children at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield reported that the man tried to lure the girl on Sunday afternoon, according to the Essex County Sheriff's Office.
The girl refused to go with the man, authorities said.
The department said it set up portable cameras around the park and posted additional officers around the area.
No arrests have been made in the case.
