Bicyclist Killed in Queens Hit and Run: NYPD

A cyclist was killed early Saturday at a Queens intersection by a hit-and-run driver, police said. 

A red Ford Escape struck Gelasio Reyes as he was riding his bike at around 3 a.m. at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and 39th Street, police said. 

Reyes, 32, of Queens, was found on the street with trauma to his body. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Cristian Guiracocha, 25, of Queens, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and refusing to take a breathalyzer test. 

It wasn't clear whether Guiracocha had an attorney.
