Travel website TripAdvisor has released its top 10 restaurants in the country, and three New York City eateries make the coveted cut.
Bouley, an upscale French dining spot in a Tribeca warehouse on Duane street, earned the title of best restaurant in America, according to TripAdvisor, which lauded the six-course tasting menu that it said transports guests "to new and exciting culinary heights."
Le Bernardin, a French seafood restaurant on West 51st, comes in at No. 3. The restaurant, which has been around for nearly 30 years, tantalizes patrons with items including lacquered lobster tail, King Fish caviar and golden blueberries with sweet corn meringue.
Daniel, on East 65th Street, earned the ninth spot on TripAdvisor's list.
"With famed Chef Daniel Boulud at the helm, this Upper East Side establishment provides a remarkable dining experience serving contemporary French cuisine paired with world-class wines," TripAdvisor said in announcing the top restaurants. "Travelers will feast on gourmet delights including smoked sablefish with heirloom tomato gazpacho and Hawaiian Kona abalone."
The rankings are based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers worldwide. Winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for restaurants around the world, gathered over a 12-month period.
