NY Man Tries to Choke, Stab Woman With Broken Bed Post at Inn in Connecticut Tourist Town: Cops

A New York man has been arrested for allegedly using a broken bed post to attack a woman at a Connecticut inn last week.

Police say 36-year-old Michael Webb, of Parish, New York, is charged with assault, strangulation, breach of peace and criminal mischief in Friday's attack at the inn in Mystic.

Police say Webb broke off the bed post and used it to try to stab and choke the woman, who was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries, according to The Day. Their prior relationship, if any, wasn't immediately clear.

Authorities say Webb had fled by the time officers arrived but was arrested later in the day.

Webb was held on $50,000 bond pending a court appearance scheduled for Monday. The case wasn't listed in online records and it could not immediately be determined if he had a lawyer.
