Two of three American bald eagle eggs have hatched at a New Jersey farm where the chicks can be seen 24 hours a day on a live webcam.
The eggs were laid in February and have just begun to hatch. Before these three, 18 chicks have been raised and flown from this nest since 2005, according to Duke Farms, the complex in Hillsborough, N.J. where the nest is located.
The last eagles to leave the nest were two that hatched in 2013.
It takes about 10 to 12 weeks for eagles to leave the nest from the time they hatch. Environmental officials attach bands to the chicks so they can be tracked after they leave.
The nest was first discovered in 2004, and the environmental center installed a webcam in 2008 to provide a daily look at the life of the eagles.
This nest is one of 148 in New Jersey.
