An Avocado Bar is Coming to New York City

You read that right.

An avocado bar is coming to Brooklyn.

Avocaderia claims to be the "world's first avocado bar" and aims to provide customers with heathy eating options, using avocado as its staple ingredient.

The bar’s menu will include avocado toast, smoothies, fresh salads and bowls.

Avocaderia co-owner Francesco Brachetti said he came to love avocado after living in Mexico.

“Avocados in Mexico were delicious and widely used in many different dishes. Suddenly I was having avocado everyday," Brachetti said. "I loved the healthy and tasty characteristic of this super fruit.”

Brachetti’s cousin Alberto Gramini, a chef, will be joining him on his venture into the food business.

“In Italy we know how to make great food with simple recipes, using few quality ingredients," Gramini said. "Sometimes making simple food is the hardest thing.”

The dishes are internationally inspired, including ingredients Shichimi from Japan and Duqqa from Egypt.

Avocaderia is located at Industry City Food Hall at 254 36th Street in Brooklyn. Breakfast and lunch will be served on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
