Arrests in New Year's Eve Hit-Run on Long Island

The victim has been in the hospital since the accident

Police have arrested a man in connection with a New Year's Eve hit-and-run accident that critically injured a teenager on Long Island.
 
Suffolk County police also arrested the driver's girlfriend and a passenger, who they say allegedly tried to cover up the crash.
 
According to Newsday, the victim has been in the hospital since the accident. His name has not been released.
 
The hit-and-run occurred on Udall Avenue in West Islip around 10:26 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
 
The driver, 25-year-old Kristofer Busching, of West Babylon, was arrested on Sunday and charged with assault, leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury, conspiracy and other charges.
 
His girlfriend, 23-year-old Alicia Santamaria, and 19-year-old passenger Carlo Caamano, both of Bay Shore, were charged with hindering prosecution and conspiracy.
