Police have arrested a man in connection with an early morning shooting inside a diner in Brooklyn that left one man dead.
Police say officers responded to a report of shots fired at the Country House Diner on Fulton Street in Fort Greene at about 5 a.m. Sunday where they found 34-year-old Jason Lewis with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The Brooklyn man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Daily News, Lewis, a father of three, lived in Bedford Stuyvesant and owned a fleet of dollar vans.
Police say a man who was taken into custody, 27-year-old Tyrone Gainer, of Brooklyn, was later arrested on a charge of murder. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
Lewis was at the diner's counter when a drunken Gainer started grabbing his girlfriend, witnesses told the News. Lewis confronted Gainer and was shot with a .22 caliber handgun, the News said.
