Man Punched to Ground in Anti-Gay Attack Near Times Square: NYPD

Police are looking for the man they say shouted anti-gay slurs at a man before punching him in the back of the head without provocation near Times Square last month.

The victim, 21, was walking along West 48th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenue early on Sept. 14 when the suspect approached and made the anti-gay statements, according to the NYPD.

The suspect then punched the victim, causing him to fall face-first onto the pavement. The attacker then left the scene.

Police say the victim was treated and released from the NYU Langone Medical Center.

The suspect was caught on surveillance camera footage (above) walking shirtless near the crime scene.
