Girl Wins Boys High School Golf Tournament on Long Island

Park defeated two-time defending champion Matt Lowe

A 17-year-old girl has won a boys' high school golf tournament in Nassau County.

Newsday says Annie Park of Levittown is the first girl to win the Nassau High School boys golf tournament.

She shot a 4-under 66 on Wednesday at Bethpage State Park's red course.

She defeated two-time defending champion Matt Lowe.

Park also has qualified for the U.S. Women's Open in Wisconsin. She's accepted a golf scholarship from the University of Southern California.

Park says she likes playing with the guys. She says they're aggressive and that makes her strive to do better.

MacArthur High School in Levittown does not offer a girls' golf team, so Park plays for her school district's boys' team.
