Alligator, Diamondback Rattlesnake Seized on Long Island: SPCA

A three-foot-long alligator and a diamondback rattlesnake were seized from a home Tuesday on Long Island, authorities say.

The Suffolk County SPCA says the dangerous reptiles were seized after authorities got a tip about the animals. Both appear to be in good health.

Authorities say they're continuing to investigate the crime, and no charges have been filed.

The seizure is the latest in a string alligator and reptile finds this summer across the tri-state.

In May, a Long Island man turned over a six-foot gator to authorities. Last month, another small alligator was spotted strolling across a street in upper Manhattan
