Alec Baldwin Pleads Guilty in NYC Parking Spot Punch, Will Take Part in Anger Management Program

Baldwin agreed to complete a one-day anger management class to resolve the criminal case

What to Know

  • Actor Alec Baldwin is due in court Wednesday after being arrested in Manhattan last fall on misdemeanor assault charges
  • Law enforcement sources said he was taken into custody after punching someone in a fight over a parking spot
  • Baldwin has denied punching anyone; the former '30 Rock' star's lawyer says he'll be vindicated by "incontrovertible video evidence"

Alec Baldwin will take part in a short-term anger management program after pleading guilty to harassment on charges that he slugged a man during a dispute over a parking spot in last fall.

The 60-year-old actor appeared in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday morning. He agreed to complete a one-day anger management class to resolve the criminal case.

The charge is a violation, the lowest level of offense. If he completes the class, the case record will be sealed.

He was led into the building by NYPD escorts and said nothing to reporters.

Baldwin had denied punching anyone in the Nov. 2 clash. It wasn't clear if the former "30 Rock" star had to admit otherwise in connection with the plea arrangement.

He was charged with misdemeanor attempted assault and harassment, a violation.

Police say he started arguing with another driver after the man parked in a spot that Baldwin said a family member was holding for him. They started pushing each other -- and authorities said the actor punched the man.

Baldwin, who portrays President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live," has gotten into several public confrontations over the years. Some have led to legal trouble.
