Enjoy a “Love Your Lane” Bike Ride

Time's Up!, the grassroots group that works to promote "a more sustainable, less toxic city," is holding a "Love Your Lane Ride" this Valentine's Day. "Celebrate Valentine's Day with your true love—your bicycle, and ride through Manhattan's lover's (bike) lanes," is the pitch, and the plan calls for a "party on wheels" set to a soundtrack of love ballads, booming from the soundbike (more or less a bicycle outfitted with speakers).

After biking around the city, throwing roses on cars parked outside the bike lanes, the group is planning an after-party in Greenpoint as a fundraiser. For $10, catch Team Robespierre and DJs Stacher, Dirty Finger and K-Tel at The Autumn Bowl (73 West St.) in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. And there's no need for a bike lock; Time's Up! plans to share the love with free valet bike parking.

The ride begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Astor Place Cube. For more information, visit the Love Your Lane Ride page on Time's Up! or Gothamist.
