A Brooklyn Restaurant Has Been Named One of America's Best BBQ Joints

New York may not be known for its barbecue, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your hands on some tasty brisket and ribs.

In fact, NYC is home to one of the best barbecue restaurants in the country, according to Thrillist.

Hometown Bar-B-Que in Brooklyn has landed on the site’s list of the 33 best bbq joints in the country.

The counter-service restaurant, which serves up Texas-style slow cooked meats and craft beer, is the only eatery in the Northeast to make the list.

Thrillist says pitmaster Billy Durney has mastered the beef rib, but that’s not what sets the restaurant apart, according to the ranking.

Thrillist highlighted the Red Hook restaurant’s Jamaican jerk baby back ribs, Oaxacan wood-fired chicken and Vietnamese hot wings.

And Thrillist isn't the only publication to give Hometown praise. Eater called it "New York's best barbecue restaurant" in an article from 2015.
