1 Killed, 1 Injured in Shooting at Yonkers Candlelight Vigil

A man was killed in a shooting in Yonkers Friday night while attending a candlelight vigil, and another man was injured nearby, police said.

Officials said the 38-year-old man who died was shot inside a car on Highland Avenue and Jackson Street at around 10 p.m. Another victim was found nearby with a small wound to his head that authorities said may have been caused by a bullet.

Police said the men were attending a vigil for a man who had recently died in a motorcycle accident when shots rang out. It is unclear whether the shooters targeted the men who were hit.
