Yonkers Man Dies in Wrong-Way Crash on Bronx Highway: NYPD

A Yonkers man died after he crashed into a truck while going the wrong way up an exit ramp off the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx Tuesday morning, police say. 

The driver, identified as 63-year-old Douglas Kaplan, drove his gray Toyota Camry the wrong way up the ramp at West 233rd Street and Jerome Avenue at about 7 a.m., according to police. He hit a New York City Department of Transportation truck.

Kaplan was pronounced dead at the scene. 

It's not clear why he was going the wrong way on the ramp.
