Everyone loves the Yankees. Well, perhaps not loves, but respects.
According to a new nationwide poll out from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, the 2009 champions are favorites to take the World Series again this year.
It's not exactly an overwhelming majority, but 29 percent of fans across the United States believe the Yanks will repeat.
Compare that to 11 percent who think the Boston Red Sox will win the Fall Classic, and 5 percent who say the Philadelphia Phillies lay claim to the Commissioner's Trophy.
Among men, the Yankees' numbers go up to 35 percent, while only 21 percent of women believe in the Bombers.
But, perhaps ominously for the Yankees, the number of people saying they will win is down from April, when 33 percent of respondents said the team would take the World Series.
The poll surveyed 454 people and had a margin of error of +/- 5 percent.
