Knife-Wielding Woman in Yankees Cap Terrorizes NYC Businesses

Authorities are looking for a woman in a Yankees cap who robbed three Queens businesses at knifepoint in a six-hour span Monday, though cops say she only made off with about $170.

Police say the woman first hit a deli on 40th Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. that day. They say she walked up to the counter, flashed a knife and demanded the clerk give her money from the register. The 20-year-old employee complied and the woman ran off with about $120.

Later, around 10:30 a.m., the same woman went into Metro PCS on 40th Avenue, showed a knife to the worker at the register and demanded cash. The 18-year-old employee handed over about $50 and the suspect fled, cops say.

Just 15 minutes after that, police say the woman went into Boost Mobile on 21st Street and again flashed a knife and demanded cash. In that case, the 25-year-old employee refused and the suspect ran off with nothing.

No injuries were reported. Police released surveillance video from one of the heists and ask anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
