Two people are in critical condition after a wrong-way crash on the Long Island Expressway.
Police say a vehicle going the wrong way down the eastbound side of the expressway struck a shuttle van at around 6 a.m. Monday near the Kissena Boulevard exit. The van was empty except for the driver.
Both drivers were brought to the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in critical condition. Police are investigating.
The Long Island Expressway was closed for a period after the crash.
