A 22-year-old Harlem man recently met up with an 86-year-old woman who lives in a Florida retirement community that he befriended on the app Words With Friends, and the unlikely meeting between two strangers that has captured hundreds of thousands of hearts across the nation. 

The man, identified as Spencer by his pastor Amy Butler of New York City's The Riverside Church, according to NBC affiliate KGW, tweeted photos of the heartfelt meeting after his visit on Friday. 

Heartfelt Meeting Between 'Words With Friends' Strangers Goes Viral

"so last summer i randomly met this 80 y/o woman on words with friends. we played 300+ games together and she actually ended up becoming a good friend of mine. today i got to go to florida and meet her in person," Spencer tweeted. 

The tweet, featuring photos of him and his Words With Friends bud, Roz, smiling and embracing, has gotten more than 1 million likes and nearly 250,000 retweets since it was posted Friday afternoon. 

Butler, who facilitated the meeting and traveled with Spencer for the meeting, responded on social media as well, tweeting, "Sweet day today with Spencer and his #wordswithfriends friend, Roz, watching them bond in person for the first time. #relationshipschangeus," according to KGW. 

Words With Friends posted on its official account as well: "We can't get enough of this! Amazing!"
