Stranger Attacks NYC Woman Walking Dog: ‘Get That Away from Me'

Police are searching for a man who allegedly punched a woman in the face as she walked her dog near Chelsea.

The 52-year-old woman was walking her dog in the area of West 15th Street near Sixth Avenue the night of Sunday, May 22 when a man on a stoop became agitated with her for some reason, the victim and police say.

The woman told NBC 4 New York that the man said to her, "Get that f-----g dog away from me," then threw a dumpling into her face and kicked her dog.

He then got up from the stoop and yelled at her.

"He's then face to face -- punches me and fractures my nose," said the woman, who wanted to remain anonymous.

The man ran off, leaving the victim bloody and dazed. She wasn't hospitalized.

People in the dog-friendly neighborhood were stunned the attack could happen there.

"It's a little scary, I walk my dog early and late at night," said one neighbor.

Surveillance video released by police shows the tense verbal confrontation between the victim and the suspect moments before he allegedly attacked her.
