Woman Wakes to Find Burglar in Long Island Home: Police

A 78-year-old woman woke to find a burglar in her Long Island home, police said. 

The woman was asleep in her house on Lea Place in Albertson when she heard noises and got up, police said. She started to walk to her bedroom door when a burglar confronted her, pushed her onto the floor and ran out the front door, police said. 

She wasn't hurt, police said. The door frame of her house was damaged and pried open. 

The man was about 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 240 pounds, police said. He wore black clothes and had a black backpack and a flashlight, police said.
