Woman Falls From Truck on NJ Highway, Gets Run Over by 2 More Trucks

A Bronx woman was killed when she fell out of a moving tractor-trailer driven by her husband and was then hit by at least two other trucks on a northern New Jersey highway.

New Jersey state police say 46-year-old Juana Alverado of the Bronx was riding unrestrained in the cab of the truck when the passenger door somehow opened around 1:25 a.m. on Route 78.

She fell out of the truck and ended up in the right traffic lane.

The drivers of the two other trucks could not avoid hitting Alverado, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges have been filed, but the accident remains under investigation.
