A New Jersey woman was charged with murder in the death of a 90-year-old man, prosecutors said.
Jocelyn Dahta, 32, allegedly killed Henry Boyd on Feb. 9 in his apartment on South Harrison Street in East Orange, authorities said. A relative found him unresponsive in his home and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Prosecutors said that Boyd died from compressions to the throat and a fractured larynx.
Dahta, of Orange, and Boyd knew each other before she allegedly killed him. The nature of their relationship wasn't immediately clear.
Dahta was arraigned Wednesday and is being held in lieu of $750,000 bail, authorities said.
A call to the Essex County prosecutors office was not immediately returned and attorney information for Dahta was not immediately available.
