A woman was arrested on Long Island for allegedly driving while intoxicated with her 2-year-old son in the back seat, police said.
Police said the 26-year-old woman from Ronkonkoma allegedly turned in front of another car on Middle Country Road and crashed into it at about 5:40 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
The woman’s son, who was in the back seat at the time of the crash, was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center for evaluation, but was not seriously injured.
The driver of the other car was also transported to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The 26-year-old driver was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
She is awaiting arraignment at court in Central Islip, police said.
