Man, Woman Abducted in Manhattan: Police

Police are searching for at least three people they believe grabbed a couple off the street and pulled them into a car. It all happened in broad daylight in Washington Heights. News Four's Checkey Beckford has more. (Published Sunday, March 31, 2013)

Police are investigating the abduction of a man and woman in Manhattan Friday night.

Authorities say several people reported hearing a woman scream in the area of Haven avenue and West 173rd Street in Washington Heights just before 7 p.m.

Witnesses also said they saw two men force the victims into a minivan at gunpoint.
Police released footage captured by a surveillance camera showing the man and woman walking down the street, then two people running after them, followed by a dark-colored minivan.

The minivan goes out of the frame and is then seen speeding in the opposite direction, presumably with the man and woman inside.

A second video shows two men fleeing, and then the minivan heading south on Haven Avenue.

Anyone with information on the abduction is asked to call police.
