Officer Fires Gun at Suspected New Jersey Carjackers

A New Jersey police officer fired his gun at two suspected carjackers as he tried to pull them over in Westfield Monday.

According to Union County prosecutors, the officer arrived after the call reporting a carjacking Monday morning.

When he tried to pull over the vehicle near New Providence Road and Route 22, the suspects began heading towards the officer.

The officer fired his weapon, but no one was hit.

The suspects are in custody.
