Convicted Sex Offender Accused of Yonkers Rape, Robbery Spree

A convicted sex offender living in a Westchester homeless shelter is accused in a brutal spate of robberies and at least one rape in the county, officials say.

Ahkim Blount, 36, faces multiple charges including rape and robbery, according to the Yonkers Police Department.

Authorities say that Blount allegedly raped and robbed a 57-year-old woman on Belmont Avenue in Yonkers on Sept. 11.

Two days later, he allegedly robbed a second woman on Bronx River Road.

In a final attack, at the Cross County mall, he allegedly approached a woman in the parking lot and told her not to scream, officials say. The 22-year-old screamed anyway and was able to escape the man’s clutches. Police say Blount allegedly ran off with the woman’s purse and phone.

The woman contacted police and they were able to track Blount down using the stolen iPhone’s Find My Phone app, authorities say. He was arrested on Sept. 23.

Blount, who lives at a Valhalla shelter, was convicted of raping an 8-year-old girl more than 7 years ago. He was released from prison in 2014. He was working at a hamburger restaurant in a Westchester mall at the time of his arrest.

Attorney information for the man wasn’t immediately available.
