Well-Dressed Thieves Swipe Furs, Crocodile Jacket From NYC Stores: Police

Three dapper thieves have stolen fur, mink and crocodile skin products from at least five luxury retail stores in Manhattan, police said.

Police say the trio first struck at the Luxury Living store on Madison Avenue at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 19. In the caper, one of the suspects, a woman in her 20s, distracted a store employee while a middle-aged man grabbed a fur blanket and stuffed it under his jacket.

Both of the suspects then walked out of the store.

The thieves struck again on at the Riflessi store on West 57th Street at about 2 p.m. on Dec. 18, police said.

Another woman in her mid-20s distracted a store clerk while the middle-aged man took two fur coats and hid them under his coat, authorities said.

The crew also pocketed a mink cape from Saks Fifth Avenue, a crocodile skin jacket from Authentic Pre-Owned and another fur blanket from Luxury Living, police said.

The three suspects are still at large, police said.

Anyone with information about the thieves should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
