Nets Fall to Heat 109-106

Dion Waiters scored 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, including the clinching 3 with 6.8 seconds left, and the Miami Heat overcame an 18-point deficit in the final period to beat the beleaguered Brooklyn Nets 109-106 on Wednesday night.

Wayne Ellington had 22 points and Goran Dragic added 17 for the streaking Heat, who have won a season-best five straight games.

Brook Lopez scored 33 for the Nets, including a career-high seven 3-pointers. Brooklyn (9-36) has lost 14 of 15 and owns the worst record in the NBA.

The Heat trailed 89-71 entering the fourth but outscored the Nets 38-17 the rest of the way.

Okaro White's 3-pointer with 58 seconds left gave Miami its first lead, 102-101, since midway through the second period.
