Laptop Starts Smoking on Virgin America Flight to JFK, No Injuries Reported

Travelers on a Virgin America flight from Las Vegas to John F. Kennedy International Airport had a bit of a scare early Wednesday when a laptop started smoking in the cabin, authorities say.

No injuries were reported on Flight 1260 and the smoke was put out before the plane landed at JFK around 6 a.m. The plane was taxied to the gate.

It wasn't clear how long the laptop had been smoking, nor what caused it to do so.
