A woman says that she was forced into a van by two men and beaten with a piece of steel before she was able to escape, and police are investigating her report.

The woman in Brick, N.J. told police she was walking through the Lake Riviera section Friday morning when a white work van with tinted windows pulled up alongside her and two men came out and grabbed her, authorities say.

The men allegedly struck the woman in the torso several times with what she described as a piece of steel, and one of them took out a box cutter, the woman told police.

She said she was able to escape the van as it slowed along Georgia Drive, then run to a nearby home where she knocked on the door and asked the resident to contact police.

Police say the victim described the men who allegedly kidnapped her as wearing dark sweatshirts and pants, and one of them possible having blonde hair.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was expected to be released Friday night.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen the vehicle is asked to contact Brick Township Police at 732-262-1110..
