Video Shows Suspects Who Attacked Transgender Woman With Plexiglas: NYPD

Police have released surveillance video showing two of the four men they say attacked a transgender woman with a Plexiglas board in Brooklyn over the weekend.

The 28-year-old victim was walking on Bushwick Avenue near Halsey Street in Bushwick at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when four men attacked, according to the NYPD.

The suspects punched and kicked the woman to the ground. She eventually got back up and was hit in the head with the Plexiglas, which police say caused serious injury.

Police say that the suspects also made anti-gay statements during the attack.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and was in critical condition as of Wednesday morning, police say.

The suspects left the victim at the scene, but two of the men were spotted in a bodega around the time of the attack.

The attack has angered members of Brooklyn's transgender community, who held a rally in Bushwick Tuesday night.

Police say the attack is being investigated as a hate crime.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
