A van hit and killed a woman crossing a street in the Little Italy neighborhood of Manhattan Thursday afternoon, police say.
The commercial rental van with registered New Jersey plates was going eastbound on Kenmare Street at about 1:30 p.m. and made a left onto onto Elizabeth Street, police said. That's when the driver hit a woman going westbound on Kenmare Street.
The victim hasn't been identified.
The driver stayed on the scene. It's not clear if charges will be filed.
