Sister of UWS Nanny: She “Loved Those Children”

Miladys Ortega told The Associated Press in the Dominican Republic on Saturday that the family is in shock over the allegations

The sister of an Upper West Side nanny accused of stabbing two young children to death says she "loved those children" and is a peaceful woman.

Miladys Ortega told The Associated Press in the Dominican Republic on Saturday that the family is in shock over the allegations.

Police say 50-year-old Yoselyn Ortega killed the children on Thursday and then stabbed herself with a knife. Their mother, Marina Krim, found the bodies when she returned to their Manhattan apartment.

Miladys Ortega says the Krim family visited the Dominican Republic last February and stayed at her home.

She says her sister did not say anything strange or unusual in recent conversations.

Yoselyn Ortega remained hospitalized Saturday for self-inflicted stab wounds.
