Car-hailing service Uber is giving riders in New York City the option to "cab pool" to their destinations.
The city is becoming the third in the nation to feature UberPool, a ride-sharing program that the company says could cut fares in half for riders willing to share a seat with a stranger.
Fredy Tello, one of Uber's highest rated drivers, applauds the concept.
"Uber and Lyft and all these other companies and definitely provided an innovation to an industry that has been broken for years," he said.
Uber currently offers UberPool in San Francisco and Paris.
