UConn Investigates Bomb Threat at Admissions Building, Classes Resume

Classes at the University of Connecticut are resuming as authorities investigate a bomb threat that prompted an order for people to shelter in place at the Storrs campus.

UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz says the building that houses the main admissions office was evacuated after someone phoned in a bomb threat at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

The university said shortly before noon that the Tasker building remains closed but activities can return to normal elsewhere on campus.

State police checked the building with a bomb-sniffing dog and were talking with the employee who took the threatening call.
