Teens Rescue 3 Drowning Men on Jersey Shore

Two teens hanging out on the Jersey Shore heard screams in the water and leaped into action, rescuing three men who were stuck in a rip current.

Thomas Bicurro, 15, and Nikolas Devoe, 14, went to surf at Seaside Heights  on Saturday morning when they heard people screaming.

Three men were stuck in a rip current, and were struggling to swim. Residents were warned of dangerous rip currents this weekend.

There were no life guards on duty.

The boys sprang into action, zipping up their wetsuits. One had his surfboard in his hand, while the other teen just swam toward the men, who were bigger than they were. A third person helped the teens as they dragged the men out of the water.

The mother of one of the teens teared up, but was not surprised at his son’s heroism.

“He just automatically acted, he aspires to be a lifeguard,” she said.

The men were taken into an ambulance.
