Elderly Man Fights Back Against Pair of Robbers in Bed-Stuy Deli: NYPD

A 78-year-old man fought back before he was beaten and robbed by two men last week at a Brooklyn deli, according to the NYPD.

On Wednesday at around 12 p.m., a male suspect punched the man several times in his face and body at Shorty’s Deli in Bed-Stuy while a second suspect acted as a lookout, police said.

During the assault, the second man stole the victim’s wallet and phone, according to authorities.

The two suspects then fled the area, police said.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition, according to police. He suffered cuts and bruises to his face. 

The first suspect is described as being in his late 20s while the second suspect is described as being in his late 30s, police said. 

Surveillance video from the scene shows the man attemping to fight back while one of the suspects pushes and punches him.
